Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Frosty

It was a beautifully bright and clear wintery morning today. The grass crisp with frost and the sky a beautifully bright blue. The garden looked lovely in spite of the neglect!
Over to Morningside first thing to pick up some things for the Cursillo meeting tomorrow, time for a coffee and catch up too.
I came back over to EH4 and popped in to the rectory to see how things were going along... well thank goodness. I was going to a memorial service at 2, so popped into Costa for a cuppa to while away the time before it was time to go to church. I think we did her proud. She was a lovely young at heart 87 year old lady who had moved away 5 or 6 years ago to Perth. She wanted her service to be at Holy Cross though where she had been very happy. She had never married and only had about a dozen family to come to the funeral. We mustered up 16 of our congregation which seemed a reasonable number.
She was a lady who was always full of fun and life and had decreed that we would all gather for croissants, champagne and orange juice (organic) afterwards which we duly did!
When I got home Katy and the girls were due so it was lovely having the chance to enjoy being with them. I had bought Eilidh a book of fairy tales in Scots, A Wee Book of Fairy Tales, we read the story of Three Wee Pigs and she loved it!
A quiet evening watching the last episode of Guilt and the start of His Dark Materials, looks promising.
8200 steps today, but I've done my week's target so that's OK.
