Unexpected Happenings

So today we were on what is a common journey for us - Mid-Sweden home to Blackburn, UK. But things didn't go quite as expected...
Unexpected turn 1
We checked in at Sundsvall airport and were presented with boarding cards for three flights instead of two. We'd been bumped from our direct flight between Stockholm and Manchester, and re-routed via Copenhagen. The journey times were almost identical but instead of 5 hours sitting in the comfortable lounge we'd have 2 hours there and then be sat on a plane to Denmark, where we'd sit around for another two hours. Not a big deal but it messed up our plans for Christmas card production. SAS lose a little goodwill as far as we are concerned. Today's blip is looking through one of the windows in that SAS lounge.
Unexpected turn 2
Arriving at Stockholm Airportwe went to customer services and made unhappy noises, despite having been told they couldn't do anything there. This got us compensation of slightly more than we'd paid for the tickets, instead of the polite brush-off we'd expected. SAS goodwill levels return to normal, and maybe even bounce a little higher than before.
Unexpected turn 3
At Manchester Airport we stand around a long time waiting for the hire company bus to pick us up. We eventually arrive at the office and there's a long queue of people waiting. It takes 2 hours before we get our car - grrr!!  We walk out to the car and it's not the compact car we'd  paid for, it's a smart looking 4 wheel drive SUV. "We've given you an upgrade" I'm told.
So even on our boring standard Sweden to UK journey things can happen!
