To Upgrade or Not to Upgrade

I've been holding off with the upgrade to the new OS Catalina on the Mac.  Over the years I've picked up some really useful small apps which I use regularly but they are not 64 bit programs and so won't work in the new OS.  I know there are work arounds but I still felt it prudent to hold off for as long as possible.

The computer 'nags' me every day and this little icon sits there in the dock to remind me each time I view the screen.  I wondered if others have made the change and what their experiences were?
