Alnwick

Well, we drove all the way to Alnwick Castle only to find out it is closed until March next year!! Flippin’ heck...I had been looking forward to it too. We had a little wander round the town and a visit to Barter Books then headed to the beach at Tynemouth.

The sea was quite rough and I think if a lifeguard was on there would have been red flags out today. I had my dry robe on and so I could take my jeans off and wade in so that I can actually say I have been in the North Sea....but only knee high. I am disappointed, but I think it was the safest thing to do. I might try again tomorrow if the weather looks more favourable.

We have just been out for another lovely meal and I am quite stuffed.
