Berlin Wall

Today I went to the two places I remember most vividly from my first visit to Berlin in 1994. The remaining bit of the Berlin Wall, with murals painted on it. I recall this one of Andrei Sakharov from then. The place has changed dramatically though. It's now a gallery, with interpretive signs and the murals have been extended and refreshed. The entire length of several hundred metres was packed with tourists. I've added a couple of extras.

Then I went to the Siegesaule (Victory Column) in the middle of the tiergarten. This always makes me think of Wim Wenders' film "Wings of Desire".

All in all, a good visit. No rain. Not too cold. Good visits with friends.
