St Mary Redcliffe

Mono Monday:  Beautiful

A shot of the magnificent St Mary Redcliffe church in Bristol for this week's Mono Monday challenge.  Despite its amazing architectural beauty this is "just" the local parish church, its not the Cathedral.

It's been another immensely frustrating and saddening day on the Dad front.  My step-mother of 2 years is very clear in her determination that care for Dad just cannot be provided within his home and that instead he should be looking to go into a care home in the short to medium term.

A major reason for Dad wanting to get married again to a woman 16 years his junior just 3 years ago, was his very strong desire to be able to end his days at home, and not to end up in a care home.

Having refused all offers to arrange for care to come into the home, my step-mother has now unilateraly organised for Dad to go into care later this week.  She is saying that it will be just for a week while she gets some respite.  Perhaps it will.  But it is hard for my siblings and I not to see this as part of a long term plan on the part of my step-mother, who has had two previous husbands before Dad.

Dad's happiness is all the matters for us at this point, if he likes the home and is happy then that is great.  Ultimately it would be a tremendous relief to know that as and when a permanent place became available he was going to end his days in a place where he could still feel safe and happy.
