Tromso Cathedral

There are two cathedrals in Tromso. The Arctic Cathedral is a striking triangular structure on the mainland opposite the town and is reputedly the Northernmost cathedral in the world. However it was hard to get a nice picture of it as it was not lit well.

This, however, is the main cathedral in the centre of the city and is truly beautiful - especially when lit at night (which lasts from 2pm to 9 am at this time of year)

You may note the sheet ice on the ground. This is a feature of the city and makes walking anywhere extremely treacherous. They don't seem to have heard of grit salt in these parts.
