My topsy-turvy life

Another assessment

Not the night we were expecting. After trying to get an early(?) night Louisa was up with a very uncomfortable and unhappy Owen. About half 12 she woke me up to have a listen to him. His breathing was rapid and noisy, temperature up at about 38.8 and still coughing.
We decided we had to take him into Telford Hospital but one of us needed to stay home with Aaron. Louisa took Owen and I stayed with Aaron, it was a horrible feeling staying at home just waiting for news.

After getting to the assessment unit via A&E they diagnosed croup and prescribed steroids to help his breathing and low dose amoxicillin to prevent it all developing further.

Aaron and me went to join them on the ward in the morning. They wanted to keep him in for observation during the day then give him another steroid dose to -hopefully- see him through the night. Seeming a bit lot better we all left, with antibiotics, for home about half past three.
At least they have a play room.
