The Lundy Eye

An axeman Prime Minister - nothing new then!

The statues in our city centre square - George Square - are all to be removed very soon for a major £15m revamp.
This is a bronze relief on the side of the statue of the ex-PM William Gladstone.
It is supposed to be him working in the woods of Hawarden, his family estate in Flintshire, Wales.
What either Gladstone or Flintshire have to do with Glasgow is a mystery to me too. But that doesn't take away from the artwork.
