Lord of the gulls

Caught this herring gull today indulging in a spot of Irish stepdancing in sub-zero temperatures at Irvine Harbour.
These birds drum the ground rhythmically to try to disturb earthworms, lure them up to the surface, then eat them.
Although these are among the biggest pest species of the bird world, it is quite comical to watch them doing this. And very confident around humans, this one was only a few feet from my car making the blip relatively easy.
