Sunny Walk

Our Thanksgiving turned out to be just the two of us, and it was really nice, including a sunny walk. Eric wasn't feeling so well, and my sis ended up with other plans. The most fun part was sitting in front of the fire while I read over half of Peter Heller's great new book, The River, to Eric. It's a "heart-pounding tale of desperate wilderness survival." It takes place in northern Canada on the Maskwa River that dumps into Hudson's Bay; his excellent descriptions of that country reminded us of the Boundary Waters Wilderness, on the boundary of Canada and Minnesota, where we canoed in 2017. I recommend the book!
