Hey! Look at me!

Well, plenty of people were looking - he was quite an attraction, as were other pieces by this remarkable artist working in sculptural goldwork embroidery. Georgina Bellamy had put on a fabulous display of her work at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate today and it was attracting a lot of attention. 

Our daughter came up from London on the train (by way of Bradford where she spent a night at a friend's home). Meanwhile we drove through the zero temperatures to arrive in Harrogate in time to pick her up at the station. Gordon went off to Fountain's Abbey to walk and we spent a lovely day at the Show. Lots to see and admire, fabric for blinds to buy, and an assortment of knitting and sewing essentials sourced. 

We finished the afternoon with a workshop, where we embroidered on top of a created background of vintage fabrics (leftovers from years of sewing - I have drawers full of the same!). Very enjoyable hour in a lovely atmosphere of friendly industry. 

Back home now and it is nice to have our daughter here overnight.
