Putting the tree up

Three trees had arrived at Christchurch Priory.

These three chaps are tackling the tallest. Quite a challenge.

That monument on the right is to the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and his wife Mary Shelley (who was the real creator of Frankenstein).

The Priory is one of England’s finest churches, with so much of interest, As we are now in Advent I’ve added an extra - part of the wonderful Jesse Screen. It was carved about 1360. This section contains all the elements of nativity - Mary and baby Jesus, Joseph, three kings, three shepherds, an ox and an ass, and an angel. No Christmas tree though - that Germanic introduction by Prince Albert was 500 years in the future when this was carved.

Before returning home we visited the flat for last checks. Then the WBG.
