Spinnaker Flying

Many days we have watched passengers on the Picanté sailboat fly on the spinnaker while anchored in the bay. It looked like a whole lot of fun from our courtside viewing point, but today we were actually on the boat. We have always tended to avoid tourist activities like the Picanté, but with our daughter in town for a few more days and with Carlos getting us a couple of comp tickets, we decided to take the plunge. What a blast! Snorkeling, powered sailing, a whale sighting, spinnaker flying and a pretty good lunch made for a delightful day on the water. The highlight of the trip was definitely our time 15 meters above the water in the harness below the brilliant yellow sail. My wife, who is afraid of heights, was convinced by others on board to take a turn and here is photographic evidence that she conquered her fear this day. I'm not certain if the open bar had anything to do with her decision or if it was just that everyone else was having such a good time, but she did it (and lived to tell about it).
