Spanish Walk

This is the Spanish Walk at the Banff Springs Hotel. This is a favorite spot for us photographers to bring people for portrait sittings or photography lessons. The painting at the end of the hallway has an interesting story. When the president of the CPR, the Canadian Pacific Railway, came to inspect how the building of the hotel was being made, he realized they had started the construction backwards, giving the gorgeous "million dollar view" to the staff. So, several towers were built onto the hotel, including a tea room specifically built for the Queen to sip tea when she came to visit. The president then painted this painting and signed his name backwards, Enroh Nav.
