Looking for the silver lining

Struggling to find one at the moment. The simplistic "Get Brexit Done" slogan appears to have eclipsed everything else - the policies of hope, the lies and the deceit of the Tories. Fact checking pointed out the lies and yet people apparently didn't care. And it isn't just social media. This is the product of years, if not decades, of media misinformation. The BBC has shown itself to be the propaganda arm of the Tory party. How else can they show such partiality in their reporting and when called out on it, claim it is a 'mistake'. So many mistakes in the same direction make it almost impossible to believe it isn't orchestrated. Electoral law? Doesn't apply, says the BBC when the chief political reporter clearly breaks the law by publicising the pattern of postal votes. And even here in Scotland, the apparent success of the SNP is mostly a product of the broken Westminster system. Their 48 seats, 81% of the total, were won with just 45% of the vote. The three unionist parties in Scotland got just over 53% of the vote, and while the turnout yesterday was over 860,000 less than in IndyRef, a Yes campaign would need those additional voters to come out in a ratio of something like three to one in favour of independence to win IndyRef2. If Independence is to be achieved a significant number of those who currently support unionist parties would need to have their minds changed about independence. Currently the other progressive parties in Scotland show no sign of believing that self-determination is the route to the social justice they espouse. So I'm glum. Again.
