So much mud!

It was so wet and slippery and muddy at training today. Never mind, it didn’t take long to clean her up with our hot tap outside and the blaster that I could not do without!

Hayley has been diagnosed with Diastasis Recti after giving birth to Reggie 6 weeks ago. She knows she’s lucky to have a healthy child, she knows it’s all about vanity, but at the end of the day she had to cope with judgemental looks and comments by people who know nothing about her. Basically it’s a condition where her stomach muscles are damaged by pregnancy. Hers are particularly bad, even the GP was surprised at how high the damage goes. She looks 9 months pregnant. All she hears is how quickly fit and active people ‘snap back’ after childbirth. She looks after herself, she’s not overweight, she’s active, yet this has happened. She ‘feels’ the comments about her with a new baby and the fact she looks pregnant “ she didn’t waste much time”. It’s hard for me to listen to her feelings. Her GP said to come back in 6 months to see about surgery. In the meantime we will find out as much as we can about what she can do. She is worried about starting her new high pressure job looking like she is still expecting. But, she is strong, has the support of good friends and is grateful for her children, so I am sure she will come through this. How hard is parenthood?
