Skinny Jakes

Passing through the back streets of Hackney Wick today I happened upon Skinny Jakes bike shop. A treasure trove of retro bikes of all styles. And it does coffee too. How could I resist the attraction of  a bike shop that does flat lattes?

Lucien owns the shop and this is Mike sitting in front of his wheel truing jig concentrating on building a bike wheel - an act of sorcery and cunning.

I will return and you should give it a visit if you are passing that way. I am always pleased to discover a new cafe. Its in Felstead Street and I am sure Lucien and Mike will be happy to show you round. But its not the only excellent bike shop in London - dont forget Chamberlaines in Kentish Town Road!
