Arundel's: one street #14

Pass the pub
bike hire, fish and chips, a glass of black
A view to startle,
Stand and stare

A hectic day - I seem to have spent most of it on the classroom floor, assembling graphs and tracing round toes and feet!! Back home and a high powered business meeting with TJ re the next card order - luckily himself had been to Bantry and bought us sticky buns which made the thought processes flow much more easily. She also regaled me about her latest geneaological findings - she has ancestors called Bjorn the Garterless and Aodh the Deep Thinker - these need more research!

Fortunately I blipped on the way to work, before the rain arrived and when all was calm and still. I'm still on the pier! This is the view across to one of the two pubs in the village. Having been a bit of an old blokes' pub where people stared into their pints and comments were few, Arundel's has suddenly been propelled into the 21C and now sells real coffee, good food and has 'events' - it's even changed its name to the rather boutique Arundel's on the Pier. Inside has been redecorated, a smokers' facility built outside along with a small children's playground. Interestingly, behind this building is an even older house, now crumbling and fenced off but ....
The view from the pub garden (behind the rocks) is sublime. During August a Regatta is held in the village and Arundel's is the hub .
