Oops!

Two days ago this barn was standing upright when I drove by.
The roof collapsed. Whoosh!
This view shows dry rot in the snapped supporting beams. (clear in the upper left) The meter of snow which melted during this January thaw period two days ago may have been the "last straw" -- so to speak, for this old beauty.
It was a big old barn and part of a formerly active farm right on the highway. There is another smaller building painted red to the back that will probably suffer the same fate.
The entire property is owned by a local real estate company whose office is in the former farm house.
