Pomegranates

Through the year, this pomegranate tree
grows in the backyard of the house I view from my window.

In the spring, leaves sprout from the branches;
and by summer the neighborhood cats take shelter and nap.

In the fall, the leaves dry and wither;
and by winter bright red tokens remind us of what was.
