Every now and then, an unfortunate woman falls into the freezing waters and is lost. Sometimes, they are crossed in love and sometimes it is simple misadventure. They are all Winter’s brides. Sometimes Winter falls out with his new brides and, in the Spring, their bodies are washed up on the shores of the thawing lake. And, sometimes, The relationship lasts and the women are never seen again.

But one woman - one woman only - walked back in the Spring, cold and wet and unaware of the missing months. And very much alive.
