White Christmas Cake

It was so nice to have the whole day ahead and not to have to rush somewhere to sing carols. Like many people, though, I spent most of the day in the kitchen, making the two stuffings, putting the next layer on the trifle, icing the Christmas cake and making this White Christmas Cake (which Miss Flum especially enjoys). It will receive a covering of marzipan, obtained on our way to church yesterday morning, knowing that it was on the Waitrose overnight lorry, sometime tomorrow.

We even had time to nip up to the supermarket for veg for the next few days, pleased that it was no busier than any other time. Now contemplating whether to put up a gingerbread mixture to make biscuits tomorrow or just flop in front of the TV... .
