Snow Wandering

The weather brightened up even more today, though the promised sun never appeared. We went out for a walk behind the house, reckoning that the snow was so shallow it wouldn't be a problem. Well, we did do the walk but it seemed to have drifted into the slight depression that is a path so it was less "trotting through the snow" and more "bashing through the snow".  However, it was good to be out, the views were good, and the forest really beautiful.
It was still a little light at 3 o'clock, which probably had more to do with the clearing skies than longer days but it felt like a message that soon the days would be longer.
