My mother hails from Boulogne sur mer, right across the Channel from Dover, and I've always been used to eating plum pudding for dessert on Christmas Day. For those not raised with it, it's an acquired taste. :-) Everyone takes to the spoon to pour a bit of rum onto the pudding for luck, though!
