M, our eldest, has a curious knack of sending his brain off on holiday about 12 hours ahead of taking his body.  

Previous instances have left passport, tickets, etc. etc. at home after setting off for the trip, though typically, and usefully, visiting somewhere en-route during which time the situation can be recovered.

This time it was his camera.

Amazing what you can arrange on a mobile phone on a train these days.
