Ring the bell for service

Had a lovely half-day with my Mum, before we hit the road for home just after 2pm.  We went for a walk into Wells, along the moat outside the Bishop's Palace, and through the market square, where there was some excellent Christmas themed yarn-bombing.

At the moat, I could see this woman dangling a string out of the window for the swans below, and soon realised it was attached to a bell - the swans promptly rang the bell and the woman fed them.  My Mum said she'd heard about this but never seen it, so it was a well-timed visit!  We also glimpsed the local kingfisher - but it was only a blue flash as it flew off down the length of the moat, so no photographic evidence, sadly.

We had a much better drive home - only about 3.5 hours this time - and then a very relaxed evening, with the Top Gear Christmas special on TV, followed by an epic sleep!
