US-less

I am losing my rag about USA manufactured goods or those made under USA control. My 2002 Mercedes Benz 2.7 litre diesel motor is hardly run in at 175,000km yet the vehicle, a Chrysler Jeep, is at its end & has been condemned to the scrap heap.

Now the replacement USA McCullough lawn tractor which we only got a few months ago new at a cheap price from the manufacturers after the previous one still under guarantee gave up the ghost but apparently due to operator failure. Strange that the operator, Angie couldn't and wouldn't know how to wrongly treat a motor and certainly nothing that would break its bearings.

A few weeks ago, the cable to set the blades of the mower in action simply broke - clearly metal fatigue after two months. Had just got a free replacement cable and wanted to fit it. So took the opportunity to give the mowing deck a good clean. Up on the tilting machine & while crawling under brushing away the dried on grass, saw that the entire spindle of one blade had sheared and was holding purely by chance.

I know that in last weeks she has only been collecting leaves with it rather than any hard mowing.

Simply removed all the bits but haven't got the nerves to tackle the warranty people yet again. They will say operator failure.

Really ought to complain to the holding company, Sweden's Husqvarna who produce quality garden equipment but like Mercedes with Chrysler, somehow felt obliged to buy up a cheap USA name hoping to breath new life into it.

Flash colour job but nothing behind it.
