He Has a Dream

In Portugal, they are still very much celebrating the twelve days of Christmas, today being the seventh day. Went to church in Vendas Novas, then a wonderful leftovers lunch, with excellent conversation... Padre Mário has a dream... that one day, we'll be able to realize that we can be united without thinking the same, that our differences will just be enriching and not divisive. I think, that in our friendship, this dream has begun to be fulfilled...

Then, a long drive up to Braga, in the far north-west of Portugal, where we ('we' being Padre Luís, Cecílio, Ermelinda, Mike and I) checked in, and went in search of food - not that easy late on New Year's Day, but we found some delicious Brazilian pizza in the end. And now I am desperate for sleep, didn't get much last night.

Gratefuls:
- safety on the roads, a lot more traffic up here, and not running out of fuel
- the Christmas lights here in Braga, impressive
- friendship across cultures and beliefs

I have changed yesterday's photo, regret having to do it on my phone, as with commenting at the moment, finding it difficult to type much, sorry!
