The Highlands

The forecast for Hogmanay was great and we had spent a long time the previous evening discussing where to go and decided eventually to go up the easy Munros just of the A93 at the Cairnwell. We left early and met pal C, just north of Perth and arrived at the Glenshee ski area and were away  at 10:15. The weather was lovely with excellent visibility, but it was windier than forecast, so we didn’t get too hot. It was frozen underfoot so shoes were ideal; the blip is taken looking south of west towards the Lawers hills in the background. We got back and had afternoon tea at the Ski Centre before heading off for a pleasant evening at our friends and we first footed just after midnight by the neighbours. Happy New Year. At the end of 2019 I had managed just over 4188 kilometres of self-propulsion so that was good; I have no goals for 2020 but will count my efforts.
