Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

2020 Here we are

Sort of a slow day today after a late night, and general non sleep.   Someone in these islands that I could see had fireworks on a clear night.  Met some neighbors we didn’t know from the island for a nice walk/visit.  Too windy/rainy yesterday and too windy today for our new year’s bonfire.   There’s still time.   More games after dinner here... codenames, cards, progress on the Star Wars puzzle, ......Maple is all tired out from her long walks.

I thought this medical journal H gets had a pretty interesting list up of some 15 scientific research stats for 2019 from different sources.  Here are 5..
1. New neurons proliferate in the hippocampus into the ninth decade of life.
2. Are 10,000 steps really the goal we should be aiming for?   A large study found the cutoff for mortality benefit was  4400.   (!)
3. Rising body mass index among people living in rural areas, ...not cities...is the main driver of the global obesity epidemic.
4. Screen time: not so bad for kids’ well being after all.
5. Maybe breakfast isn’t really important.   The morning meal may not help people lose weight.
And lots of more medical findings..

Always new ways to see stuff... let’s hope that some sense will appear in our leaders.  Wishing you a healthy and creative new year.
