Velazquez and Rembrandt

Well, for this photo I indeed have paintings to the left by Velazquez and to the right by Rembrandt. It wasn't all Velazquez and Rembrandt though. It was Spanish masters and Dutch masters. A variation in painters. Throughout the exhibition two or more paintings were paired up, one by a Spanish master, one by a Dutch master. A very interesting way to look at them.

We enjoyed it very much but were mildly disappointed that it wasn't all Velazquez and Rembrandt.... My mistake.

The Rembrandt paintings to the right belong to both France and the Netherlands. They alternate between the Louvre and the Rijksmuseum.
Here's when I first saw them: https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2227164338660052257
