Ice Houses

Dear Diary,

We've had some beautiful weather since our two day snow storm on Monday and Tuesday.  Very mild for January too.  The ice houses are popping up on lakes all around me because January begins the ice fishing season.  People have done whole photo books on these little shelters as some can be quite unique and colorful.  This one was all alone on the pond although on some ponds you see ice house "communities".  I particularly liked the lines on the ice.  Rain and snow are predicted for tomorrow night but how much of each is unclear.  It will be in the mid-40'sF during the day which is very un-January like temperatures.  I hope the ice is thick enough under that ice house or it will become a sunken ice house!
