Not safely grazing

This is a view of the field opposite the house. It's right in the centre of Stirling so we're lucky to have a rural aspect. The sheep have been in the field since harvest last autumn. A couple of days ago we were out walking by the river and saw that a sheep had fallen into the water. The tide was rushing out and the poor sheep couldn't scramble onto the bank. While my son ran to the farmhouse to alert the farmer I phoned the SSPCA and an inspector took the map co-ordinates. I don't know if anyone was successful in rescuing the sheep as it was being swept down the river pretty fast. I imagine a sheep's coat gets waterlogged quickly. Sad for the sheep and not good for the farmer.

Up to Kings Park this morning where Flora had a wonderful time playing with about 20 other dogs. Great exercise and lots of fun. Sunny and bright too which made the walk a pleasure. I've now tidied away all the Christmas decorations and the house looks pleasingly de-cluttered.

Off to see Little Women tonight with a group of friends then calling into another friend to wish her a happy new year.
