Greyfriars Bobby

Met up with an old friend (and her husband) from Susan’s school days in Glasgow (that is old) in Edinburgh.

Being Glaswegians they rarely slum it in Edinburgh; there seems little love lost between the two cities.

We met them at the Waverley and walked up to the Elephant House for coffee and plan the day. The Elephant House was crowded so we went next door to the Patisserie Valerie instead.

From there we walked the old town; Royal Mile, Lawnmarket, Castle Esplanade, Grassmarket, Greyfriars Bobby (blip), Museum of Scotland (for lunch), Carlton Hill, George Street and The Dome for the New Town ending up at the Guildford Arms for a drink and a meal.
