Square Pants

Treat for the kids today - off to see the Sponge Bob Square Pants show in Edinburgh. It was ok. I find myself increasingly irritated though by the way people behave in theatres, must be a sign of age. In the interests of Red Nose warmth and good feeling to fellow folk, I'll just give you the edited highlights (lowlights?) of my pet theatre hates:

1. If you lean forward, the person behind you can't see.

2. Crisps have no place in a theatre. Not even a kids show.

3. This is the theatre. Not the telly. So if your kids are talking very loudly throughout the whole show, interspersed with loud light sabre fights - you really have to step in and shut them up a bit.

4. Bitching and whining about the show being too childish for your 14 year old daughter is daft. You'd all seen the show on the telly.

5. Take your rubbish home. Including the crisp packets.

6. Don't arrange to meet everyone you know at the top of the main stairs just as everyone's trying to leave. Or if you must, then don't look surprised when folk want to squeeze by you.

Anyway, it was fine - we had front row circle seats so had a fab view. And pizza for tea. So not a bad day really. Rubbish photo though, but Mr B's off skiing (grrrrr, jealous) for 5 days tomorrow so I should really be being sociable.
