A day of drama

Poor Ottawacker Jr. 

A couple of years ago, he chipped a tooth - well, he cracked it pretty badly, but as it was his front tooth and not causing him any pain, the dentist said it should stay. At his most recent check up on Friday, that decision was reversed...

So at 9.10 a.m. today, I brought him into the paediatric dentist's, where his front tooth was yanked out with pliers. I begged him to let me use the slamming door technique, but he wasn't having any of it. So much for those $250.

Anyway, he bore it all stoically and has had no ill effects. He even got to have mushed food all day - mushed banana and whipped cream being a particular favourite - and, as I kept him off school, he was able to shout up (with a newly developed lisp) and issue his orders.

Tonight's skating lessons have been unaffected (miraculous recovery) and he was even out in the drive helping Mrs Ottawacker clear up the snow.
