Wanna Play?

Nah...neither do I. Even though he can hardly ever get a rise out of Ozzie, Blake never gives up hope...

Our one outing today was a trip to the hazardous waste materials dump with a car full of old paint and solvents. They've been stored in the garage since we moved here but we cleared everything out when the roofers were coming. What are the chances that the carefully saved cans of paint are going to match the paint in the house after seven years? Or that we can even get them open?

When we told friends we had bought a new house, someone asked if we were going to have to paint it. I had absolutely no idea. After looking for a house and talking about moving for years, we literally bought this house after looking at it for no more than half and hour. When we finally got back to see it again after we bought it, I realized that it was really nicely painted in slightly varying shades of the same taupe color there enough different colors that it would be really difficult to find the can that matches the guest bathroom..

We've moved all those paint cans several times to get them out of the way or out of the rain, but we never got around to taking it to the dump which is some distance away. Although neither one of us was feeling tip top, John decided that today was the day and I offered to go with him to keep him company

We took the back roads down there...a nicer drive than the freeway, and maybe safer with a car full of toxic waste. We took the freeway home after discovering that the dump isn't open today. I told John to leave it in his car and drive mine until he had a chance to take it back to the dump when they're open....

Our neighbor is having her deck rebuilt. A sound like a dentist's drill has been emanating from over there all day, so  I've been holed up in the house trying to get away from the noise. I'd probably be more tolerant of the noise if my head didn't already feel like it was in a vice....
