Show me the way

Walk by this on my way from the station to visit my daughter in hospital. Think it's rather nice. I looked it up today and it marks the old Stirling to Glasgow postal road. Think the aeroplane was going somewhere entirely different.
Have to say glad it's Friday, first week after a break always a long one.
