Behind the curve

Main Street

Sadly this will probably be coming to a main street near you soon.

The shop survived in the 60's as an ice cream parlour after the closure of the local railway station, the 70's as a sweet shop helped by the relocation of a city school to the suburbs, the 80's as a newsagent, helped by the closure of another shop, hindered by the Safeways built on the knocked down railway station, the 90's and 00's as a local general store relying on Safeway's, William Low's and Morrison's mismanagement of the station site............BUT Tesco took over a few years ago and finally a Tesco Metro with 200 car parking spaces and the council buses stopping inside the supermarket carpark overwhelmed it and a short lived period as a dry cleaners was I think the last trading tenant.
