The Albert Pier...

I took a few photographs around the Albert Pier this morning but I rather liked the way St Peter Port appeared as I climbed the steps to the upper level.
There is a statue of Prince Albert on the pier which commemorates his visit to Guernsey with Queen Victoria. The visit was unplanned and spontaneous; they were cruising around the Isle of Wight in their yacht when Victoria said “Why don’t we visit Guernsey since we’ve never been” or words to that effect! And so they changed course across the Channel.
