First Light, Rain Coming

Despite the brightness of the light, a few drops of rain had already started to fall and I was glad that I made it back to the car before the heaven's fully opened.

Later in the day I was notified of a new You Tube video from a film maker chronicling the various canals of Birmingham Canal Navigations, focused on this very stretch of canal and in particular the Lord's Hays Branch.  The shot was taken from the start of the branch, now filled in where I'm standing.  He has taken a lot of effort to research archives and walk the various sections of many of the local defunct sections of canal and you realise we are literally surrounded by these old sections of canal serving the thriving coal industry in the 19th Century.

We spent the day in Tamworth, firstly a bit of retail therapy and then a lovely walk through Hopwas Wood.

We finished the day with a first try out of another vegetarian recipe for mushroom stroganoff.  A success!

Day Miles: 3.5 miles

Total Miles: 65.6 miles
