Lights in the Cafe

First Socrates Cafe of the year. We talked about what the current royal story means for the survival of the monarchy, whether the outrage over some of the details of the Edinburgh Christmas and New Year is fake and if it is, does it matter, and whether silly problems are still problems. In the evening, with one of our number unable to make it to The Skylark the three of us branched out and played Splendor. Lorraine was the only winner of three games, although at least I wasn't quite so hopeless as last time. Still need to pay more attention to what other people are doing!
