Gas Main Coil

Absolutely knackered today - a combination of lack of sleep and the effects of this horrid cold. Really couldn’t get going.

I did finish off the packs of shapes for Mrs madwill’s quilt kits - tomorrow we need to cut the main fabrics and wadding to complete the kits.

Had a quick trip to the supermarket to get a few bits and I did manage to make a pot of soup - should last a few days

Rained pretty much all day - finally stopping around 3 p.m. - so, as Finlay was pestering, we had to go out for a walk.

The gas main works that I have mentioned before have now moved into the side roads - ours will be done in a couple of week. Here is one of the (many) coils of pipe that are being installed.

A friend of ours in the village discovered that her house had been built over an old gas line - which the gas company only discovered as they were digging up the old ones around. The metal pipe was rotten - and was still ‘live’ - it could have burst at any time which would have filled the house with gas! It has now been capped off!
