Lots more music

After our late night, you’d have thought we’d have a lie in but no up early for a quick bite to eat before heading back across Glasgow to see ‘Storm’ - a 10 metre sea goddess made entirely from recycled materials - mAlex her way through Glasgow from the River Clyde to the Concert Hall. She was magnificent - held up at the back by a crane and manoeuvred by a team of volunteers.

Back to the apartment to pick up Mr PHL (who had decided not to see Storm) before we headed back down to the Concert Hall for the afternoon event, a 6 hour festival within a festival celebrating Scotland’s year of Coasts and Waters. Listened to some fabulous music - Miller/MacDonald/Cormier from Cape Breton, Julie Fowlis, Fara, Capercailie and Skerryvore amongst others.

Quick taxi ride over to the Barrowland Ballroom for the evening entertainment of the Grit Orchestra - an 80 piece ensemble drawn from many musicians. An iconic venue but too busy, poor acoustics and tiredness caused us to leave after an hour in search of a late dinner.

Found it in Dhabba, a gorgeous North Indian restaurant near the Fruitmarket.

Home for a chat over a glass of wine to wind down and off to bed.

Back blipped Sunday 19th.
