Life through the lens...

River Nidd

Not sure if these are steppingstones, but certainly wasn’t going to walk across them today.

Fabulous day. Cloudless sky and sunshine.
It was frosty when we set off from home. - 2C but warmed up to 6C in the afternoon.

A good turn out for our walk from Dacre Banks to Darley and back. ( see map )
22 of us. Almost a record.
I think it was due partly because it was only 4.5 miles. Partly because it wasn’t far to drive, and mainly because of the beautiful weather.
The walk was mainly along the river bank.
Not to bad going as the mud was still frozen, but coming back the frost had melted and it was quite slippery on the narrow path. Very glad I had my walking stick.

Finished off in the pub for drinks.
I had a shandy as usual. The bitter was a local brew called Battle Axe. Mr C said very appropriate. No idea what he meant!! Only joking of course!

It was quite a difficult journey back because of the sun. Blinding in places.
However back now and enjoying a cuppa before making tea.

Love winter days like these.

A couple of extra shots. One Mr C with part of the club. Second, sunshine on the mossy stones as we walked through a wood on the way back.
