When life gives you lemons

Today I have made five pots of marmalade (using bitter oranges from street trees), started three jars of preserved lemons (courtesy of ceridwen for the idea), and made some lemon and ginger syrup for lemonade purposes. That's maybe 5% of the total lemon crop (see extra), so more ideas still needed! I'm now making a tarte tatin to use up some slightly tired apples and a roll of puff pastry. A domestic day ... can you tell it's been a cool and windy day?

Meanwhile the woodburner's stoked up, time for an apero. And maybe another film later ... we watched Jean Vigo's L'Atalante last night. I haven't seen it for many years. It's so charming, with some surreal episodes remarkable for their time (1934). And surprisingly I'd forgotten about all the cats photobombing many scenes!
