“Tell me a story…”

Ernest Hemingway is credited with writing the first ever six-word short story, or flash fiction:

“For sale: baby shoes, never worn”.

In my installation at the Macrobert arts centre, “ Tell me a story” I have two current examples of local contemporary flash fiction.

Life
She lived
Shit happened
She died

Meanwhile my youngest contributor to the project wrote:

   Cat and dog story
“Once upon a time there was cat and a dog.
 The dog ate the cat.
And he lived happily ever after.”

What both have in common with Hemingway is that they have told a short story in few words.
It’s quite a challenge. Try it.
