Edsel

This is one of the many beautiful vehicles I had the privilege of seeing and photographing today at a local classic car show. It was good to see many classic autos being preserved and pampered by their loving and adoring owners. It was also a pleasure to see parents bring their children along so they too can witness and experience cars from years and generations when the industry was at its best in terms of design and styling.

I chose this Edsel capture primarily because of its rarity and uniqueness when compared to the typical classics one sees at events such as this. For those that don't know, the Edsel can easily be classified as one of Ford's, and even American bussiness', biggest failures - causing an estimated $350 million in loss in two years (1958-1960 - Ford made the official announcement to stop production of the Edsel in Nov. 1959; however, they continued production of some models through Nov. 1960). The theorized reasons for this failure are many. Regardless, I still enjoyed the unique design of the grill, which is why I picked it for today's blip.
