The polite slice

Why is it no one wants to be the person who takes the last slice?!

We were visited today by a friend I've not seen for 15++ years (her little one is now 22 :-0 !!). She and her husband were sadly up this way for a funeral but how great to catch up. This is the second time we've 'reconnected' as we were at school together, albeit different years, then met at a Mums and Toddlers music group about 25 years ago and now they're retired and much more mobile. They've moved to Norfolk and when asked why, Sarah demonstrated with wide arms and a deep breath that same sense of space and freedom that I feel in Orkney. I think a bit of mutual visiting and deep breathing might be in order ;-)

This afternoon I've done little other than play with the dog (who was very well behaved this morning, mainly asleep after a long walk!), polish off that sad bit of flapjack and sat by the fire. It's hard to stuff pincushions with a largish pup crawling over your knee! Hopefully I'll finish them tonight ...
